Advocacy & Empowerment Theatre 2004 to Present
From the beginning Rob MacLeod's Capitol Players have believed in the power of theatre to both entertain and educate. We have worked with a variety of community groups/organizations to develop theatre that raises awareness of and money for meaningful issues/causes in our community.
Working with consumers/survivors of the mental health system Rob MacLeod's Capitol Players took their stories and created "The Recovery Monologues" (2009) a play that speaks to the realities of living with and the recovery from mental illness. This show was then performed by consumers/survivors of the mental health system.
