10By10 - The Beginning

10By10 Playwrighting Showcase 2013 & 2014

In 2013 playwrighting became a focus as Janis Swanson (Rob MacLeod's Capitol Players) came up with the idea presenting of a showcase of original 10 minute plays written by local/regional playwrights and performed by local actors, directors and tech crews. She quickly brought into her vision 3 theatre friends and together they created 10By10. This showcase was an immediate success uniting the local theatre community in a spontaneous energy filled evening of original theatre. Selling out in both of the first 2 years the showcase grew quickly to the point that it required a committee exclusively dedicated to presenting it annually and Rob MacLeod's Capitol Players are grateful that such a group came forward. While we remain involved as playwrights, performers, directors, tech crew, Master of Cermonies and sponsors for this showcase we wish the new 10X10 success in years to come and are proud to include it as part of our legacy.
